Hi Willem. I thought I did act on the +-follow key. I did not and therefor was not prompted when activity took place. As I did not get any indication of activity on your blog, I was under the impression that a less than subtle siesta was taking place. This evening I wanted to show a friend the level of photography exercised by you and found all the latest reports. I am now in such high standing with the people I have introduced to your blog. Overnight I have turned into somebody that knows somebody that can really capture moments. A fantastic range of photos. Well done. And I have read the technical information as well. Even the detail of “early morning excursions before sunrise”. I am still recovering from that. Reading about snacks on the boat, was the last straw that forced me towards “shut down”. Yet again: Special! Congrats!

Hi Willem – do you use Cpl filters? Is so – please tel us more – I believe B&W is good (can’t find any in SA?) – and Marumi?

  5. #5 by Willem on June 5, 2013 - 6:30 pm

Hi Sandra, thanks for you question. No, I do not use CPL filters. I only recently bought a Bigger Stopper filter from Lee. I still need to practise with it as well as the other Lee filters available. Sorry that I cannot assist you but I only recently starting doing landscape photography because I tend to concentrate on wildlife photography. Regards. Willem

Love your photography! Love it, especially because you give the camera settings as well, which assists amateur photographers such as myself…. great learning experience.

    • #10 by whk139 on February 12, 2014 - 1:25 pm

Thanks Annette and I do belief in sharing – that is why I do not have a problem sharing issues such as camera setting with my readers. I’ve learned a lot from other photographers – so if somebody can learn from me (also just another amateur and newbie), the better

sjoe! Willem wat doen jy om sulke kwaliteit fotos te skiet.Ek kan verstaan dat jy die foto skep maar hoekom is die kwaliteit van die fotos so hoog ten opsigte van helderheid ,klariteit ens Wat is jou geheim.

    • #13 by whk139 on December 3, 2014 - 2:44 am

Thanks, Nico. My geheim is geduld asook die gebruik van goeie fotografie toerusting en Photoshop tegnieke (sonder manupilasie van fotos).

Hi What trailer do you use?Looks quite nice. I have a new Nissan X-trail 4×4 and is trying to get info about different rooftop type trailer/small caravan that will survive Kgalagadi, and is not to expensive. Any suggestions?Thx Neels

    • #16 by whk139 on April 22, 2018 - 7:27 pm

Hi Neels – I’ve done extensive research and talked to quite a few people before buying. We even went to the Beeld exhibition to view all the options. At the end we decided on a Conquerer because of its toughness. No regrets whatsoever – very satisfied with our choice and enjoying the boswa tremendously. Take note – it is a Commander and not a roof top boswa.
