Outcome of my salon entries – month of January 2013

I’ve decided to continue posting the outcome of my photography salon entries on a monthly basis. Lets start with the month of January 2013. It usually takes about 3-6 weeks after the closing date of a salon to receive the results of the said salon. Hence the reason  why I can only post the results of the January salons. I waited for all the results of all the salons that had a closing date in January.

To summarise my salon entries for January 2013 – I’ve entered 9 international salons and I received acceptances in all 10 salons. Here are the results:

1. 1st EMPA International Digital Salon, India

Entered 4 photos in the Photo travel and 4 photos in the Nature sections. Received only 1 acceptance – not a very succesful salon but like I said before: 1 acceptance is 1 more towards my goal. Quiver tree and blue sky was the only acceptance and it was in the Photo travel section

Entered 4 photos in the Landscape sections. Received 2 acceptances – now this is getting better, a 50% acceptance rate.

4. 100th Southampton International Exhibition, United Kingdom

Entered 4 photos in the Nature sections. Received only 1 acceptance – and the one acceptance is one of my favourite photos taken during our trip to the Masaai Mara.

7.  3rd  Agens Digital Photo Salon, Hungaria

Very interesting sections to choose from. I’ve entered 4 photos in the General Colour section and 4 photos in the My favorite picture section. Received 2 acceptance in the Open section and none in the other section.

8. 3rd UPI International exhibition of Photography, Sweden

Entered 4 photos in the Colour section. All 4 photos were accepted and 1 photo received a COM award. Little Sparrowhawk is one of those photos – not sure how it will be received. But in this salon it won a COM award.

      Hi Jan

    Hi Willem,
Ek sien nou eers volgens my spelling is jy sommer nou Wille, sorry.
