I’ve realised that I forgot to post my February 2013 camera club results. I was in the Kgalagadi Transfort. Park during the week of February, so I did not attend the session and received a verbal report from my wife the next week on the outcome of my photos. Once again, I submitted 3 photos in the nature section and I did receive 3 gold awards. Here are the photos:
Made it – taken during our trip with C4 Images & Safaris to Masaai Mara in 2012
The photo scored 12/15
Elephant baby tired– taken during our trip with C4 Images & Safaris to Mashatu Nature reserve in 2012, taken during our first afternoon drive next to waterhole a few meters from the tented camp where we stayed
The photo scored 12/15
Cheetah lookout– taken during our trip with C4 Images & Safaris to Mashatu Nature reserve in 2012, taken on a morning drive after they’ve eaten a impala and just before our famous chase.
The photo scored 13/15
I also submitted 2 photos in the set subject section – which was Light – and here are the photos:
Giant eagle owl backlight– taken during our trip to Kgalagdi in Nov 2012 between Urikaruus and Kamqua, late in the afternoon and the owl was sitting on the ground next to the road.
The photo scored 10/15 (silver award)
Rings of confusion– taken and created as part of Prof Gert Lamprecht’s photography course. Just a tourch light hanging and swinging from the ceiling with a long shutter speed. I inserted the candle using Photoshop.
The photo scored 11/15 (gold award)
And then this month’s results – as usual, another 3 photos for the Nature section with another 3 gold awards. This time around it was very close with 2 photos receiving scores of 11/15:
Gabar goshawk After the bath – the photo scored 13/15 – taken during our trip to Kgalagadi in December 2012, trip report still to be posted.
Lion drinking water sideways – the photo scored 11/15 – taken during our trip to Kgalagdi in Nov 2012 at the 13th bore hole. My first great sighting of a lion drinking water very close to our vehicle.
Cape fox sleeping – the photo scored 11/15 – taken during our trip to Kgalagdi in Nov 2012 just south of Kamqua bore hole early one morning.
And I’ve tried my hand at the set subject again – altered reality which is not my favourite but what the ….., lets give it a go:
Namibia burning – the photo scored 11/15 (gold award)
Drifters tree in afternoon colour – the photo scored 8/15 (silver award)
Until next month’s camera club meeting, keep on shooting!!!
